Intigration
Immigrants coming to America often could not speak English. Immigrants would live in neighborhoods where everyone spoke their language and continued their culture. These neighborhoods were often called “Chinatown” or “Little Italy” or something similar. Immigrants coming to America were desperate for jobs so they could make a living. Most immigrants had little to no money and wanted to help pay for their family back in their country to come to America. Many immigrants would take jobs paving streets, building railroads, laying gas lines, digging subway tunnels, working in factories, and other hard working jobs, for very little pay.
